The bedroom color scheme is both calming and timeless. Walls, drapes and chairs are shades of taupey gray and the accent color is a muted blue green.
I love all the romantic touches like the crushed velvet on the two settees in the foreground, and the feminine feel of goblet pleats in the drapery.
Speaking of drapery, if you can sew you'll save yourself a ton of cash, but you can also pay someone to sew them for you. One thing that sets custom made window treatments apart, aside from better quality fabric, is that they're usually interlined which gives them a sensuous flow.
This dark wood, four poster bed is the focal point of the room with an exquisite demilune table at the foot. Above the bed is a carved wood garland, and off to the right a sunburst mirror, both antiques from Italy.
Drapes pulled to each side frames the bed, and the beautiful rock crystal chandelier is like the cherry on top! It came from Shabby Chic in New York, but there's nothing shabby about it.
Understated elegance. Not too much, or too little, but as Goldilocks would say, "This bedroom is just right!"
Here's a great example of romantic bedroom decor, a canopied bed with drapes that make you feel as if you've escaped to a tropical island.
A great bed always makes the room and Master bedroom designs should be heavy on the romance, even if you're single. Romantic bedrooms are all about love and that includes loving yourself. Your bedroom should make you feel like a pampered princess, because you're worth it!
