How To Find The Best Mattress Pad, Topper, Cover For A Great Nights Sleep
Have you been loosing sleep because you're bed just isn't comfortable? Are you tossing and turning, or waking up in a puddle of sweat?
Maybe you've just had a back or other surgery and find it more painful to to sleep? If you're mattress is in good condition and still supporting you properly, I've got something that just may help you get the best night's sleep, ever.
This is not to suggest a medical remedy, and if you have serious sleep issues, you should talk to your doctor. What I'm talking about is getting your bed as comfortable as possible so that you can fall into a blissful sleep, and wake up feeling refreshed. Sound impossible? Hear me out, I was once a skeptic myself.
I'm going to share with you a solution that has changed my life in just one night! It's not only the best mattress pad you can buy, it's a renewable natural resource, and it's made right here in the USA.
Why Is It So Much Harder To Sleep These Days?
Mattresses today are made up of so many synthetic materials, including foams, that aren't very good at helping your body regulate it's temperature.
There's nothing worse than waking up in the middle of the night because your internal thermostat says "we're on fire over here!" If you flip the covers off you get cold, then you put them back on, a little while later you're too hot again. You end up awake half the night trying to go back to sleep, worse still if you're soaking wet and have to change.
Modern day, No Flip mattress, with their huge pillow tops were supposed to be a benefit, but the real benefit goes to the manufacturers who only have to finish one side of the mattress.
If you can't turn your mattress over, all you can do is a 180 degree turn, which means your butt's still in a rut! It's also a form of built in obsolescence, because having only one side to sleep on, you'll have to replace your mattress more often.
Which Is The Best Mattress Pad For You?

A fabulously frugal solution to the lofty pillow top mattresses is to buy a no frills, firm, mattress, (preferable one you CAN flip) and cover it with the best mattress pad money can buy. This way you'll only be paying for the support you need and you get to choose what goes next to your body.

Pillow Top Mattress Covers: These are a regular old mattress covers with a little extra quilting, and usually made up of synthetic fiber fill. They cost anywhere from $30.-$60. and may work just fine if you're bed isn't too hard, but unless you can find all cotton, it's more fabric that doesn't breathe.
Memory Foam Mattress Covers: A little more pricey, they cost anywhere from $125. - $200. depending on size and types of foam used. If you can find the special foams that have the air pockets in them they cost almost double.
This material is so squishy that you have to swing your body up and of the pit you've sunken into during the night, plus they get too hot in summer months.
Wool Mattress Toppers ~ Natural Really Is Better!
Wool can help you sleep a lot more comfortably, and can be especially helpful for those experiencing night sweats caused by hormones or medical treatments. Hospitals and nursing homes also use wool pads to keep patients from developing bed sores, and it can make a huge difference after surgery by relieving pressure points on your body.
Wool has long been popular for clothing, but did you know they even make hi tech running clothes out of it? That's because wool is an excellent material for wicking perspiration.
Why I believe SnugFleece makes the best mattress pads
- It's a very thick mattress pad, which helps to ease pressure points.
- Made of American virgin wool, it's naturally more springy/durable.
- It's fits up to an 18" thick mattress with straps that hold it in place.
- The bed feels so comfy and the temperature is always just right!
- It's a renewable natural resource. (no sheep skins, just wool :)
- They give a 30 day sleep guarantee and one year warranty.

The "original" version of SnugFleece was recommended to me because it's not only the thickest, but the most dense pad they make. (1.5 to 1.75" pile and 85 oz. per sq. yd. with cotton backing) It can't be washed like the other versions they make, only spot cleaned (if needed) and dry cleaned. It's recommended to leave the bed unmade periodically so the wool can air out.

for adults who suffer from incontinence. SnugFleece makes wool pads to fit massage tables, RV beds, sofa beds, and lots of odd sizes too. Contact me with your size requirements.
If you have a day bed, why not get the original version and pillow covers, then leave the cover exposed so you're sitting on the natural wool. It's so soft and comfy! It just may become your favorite napping spot.
Your old memory foam mattress covers can be stored under a bed and pulled out for company. It makes a great bed for kids thrown right on top of carpeting, or cut it to fit a sofa or camp bed to make it more comfy.
I hope you enjoyed reading my review of this product, and why I consider it the best mattress pad on the market. You should also know that I paid full price for my SnugFleece, and although it was a big investment, it was worth every penny.
